Houston, TX, (July 7, 2010)—Tradition Energy recently collaborated on an innovative new energy purchasing program with Choice Facility Partners (CFP), a division of the Harris County Department of Education providing cooperative purchasing services for schools, education-related organizations and other governmental entities nationwide.
The CFP Energy Purchasing Program is unique because it combines the public procurement process with wholesale market pricing and metrics provided by the program coordinator, Tradition Energy, one of the world’s largest energy procurement advisors. Tradition Energy’s wholesale energy brokerage service gives managers full access to wholesale energy market indicators, which allows them to provide additional insight and market transparency to ensure energy rate competitiveness.
“This unique program is the only one of its kind providing wholesale and retail energy market transparency to maximize pricing leverage for governmental entities,” according to Bob Wooten, Director of Strategic Solutions for Tradition Energy. “Taxpayers and stewards of public funds will find value in seeing where market prices are, because it will confirm they are making the best procurement decisions possible.”
The CFP Energy Purchasing Program offers local government agencies a pre-procured contract with Reliant Energy in Texas and, for entities in all other deregulated states throughout the U.S., a contract with GDF Suez. These contracts offer very advantageous terms and conditions to CFP members. Reliant and Suez are two of the nation’s largest and most respected retail energy providers serving thousands of electricity customers.
“The CFP Energy Purchasing Program offers true transparency and efficiency rolled into one electricity procurement service,” said Dean Zajicek, Director, Choice Facility Partners. “Through our program government entities have access to competitively bid electricity supply contracts and greater confidence in their energy-purchase decisions.”
