Stamford, CT, February 11, 2014 — Today, Tradition Energy announced to the public its Annual Energy Market Forecast for commodity prices. The 20-page report, made available to Tradition clients last month, identified the key factors likely to drive energy price volatility over the year and it provided price estimates for electricity, natural gas, crude oil, heating oil and gasoline.
The Forecast indicated that Tradition expects electricity prices to be higher in every region of the country except for Chicago. It also stated that natural gas futures prices are likely to rise 10% on the back of tight supplies and growing industrial demand.
“The price of natural gas will almost certainly rise, driven by tight inventories, rising industrial demand, growing reliance on natural gas by power generators and pipeline exports to Mexico,” said Addison Armstrong, Senior Director of Market Research at Tradition Energy. “And as goes the price of natural gas so goes the price of electricity where we expect to see year-over-year increases across most of the nation.”
The forecast prices below are for the average daily market settlement price of each commodity from January 1 through December 31, 2014.
